The Theatre of Universes

Once upon a time, there was a galaxy full of beings whom lived together in total harmony in the Universe of the Small. One morning on an insignificant planet in the Galaxy of Small, Bob, an astronomer, was looking at his latest display of the Universe through the most advanced telescope array of their planet.

In another Universe (Universe of the Large), in a remote part of the Large Galaxy, John was fine tuning his latest particle accelerator experiment. The idea of the experiment was to speed up some small, highly charged particle and then smash it into some other other particle, blowing it into the native components.  John pushed a button, and set run 1602 into action. Blat! In the blink of an eye, a particle that just happened to be floating in the way was blasted into many little pieces. The results were recorded in some computer memory for later review.

Back on the Galaxy of Small, Bob saw an outline of approaching galaxy. He called it the Collider. It was coming directly at Small at nearly the speed of light. He presented his paper at the annual meeting of Astronomers Society of Small. Several eons later, the Small Galaxy was obliterated by the incoming Collider Galaxy, its pieces exploding towards the perimeter of the Universe of Small. The billions and billions of beings living on the millions of habitable planets in the Small Galaxy were vaporised in a blinding galactic super nova.  Some primitives in a neighboring galaxies called it a light from heaven, the sign of God.  Festivals, soon to be religions, were created to commemorate the day when a star in the night sky could be seen during the day.

John looked at the results of run 1602. Hmm. Nothing great. Maybe the computer will find something more. It is time to go out and get a pizza with Mary. Meanwhile, Mary is looking far into the distant Universe at a fast approaching galaxy. She could hardly wait to tell John about it at dinner...
