The Twin Tragedy

The terrorist attack on the Trade Towers has many confused about the cause behind the attack.

Imagine a group of thugs who want to control a society.  They devise the following schemes

• Twist a religion (or political philosophy) to fit your need for controlling the people. The Muslim religion was chosen.  Back a while ago, it was the Hitler and the Nazi's.  
• Control the Press -- Infiltrate the Press.  Slowly but surely push out opposing reporters and viewpoints as being politically incorrect.
• Control the People's freedoms. Religions and Schools are easily corruptable and can be an easy source to spread more propoganda from the pulpit or classroom to twist subject behavior towards various desired perspectives that support your power.
• Create or Identify a common enemy.  The terrorist have chose class envy as the most useful tool with the US prosperity and freedoms being singled out as top of the list of 'enemies' of the cause.  This is not so much because the US has done anything to these folks, but because it is rich and the subject population is poor.  In the case of Hitler, a similar scheme of envy was used, with Jews as the targeted group.  Envy is also a common tool of various political parties, even in mainstream politics.  It is a powerful tool for corrupting poor, innocent and ignorant population groups.
• Identify and deal with any "Achiles heel" in your system before they can undo you.
  • The terrorist's "Achiles heel" is anything that allows your subjects various freedoms that will undermine your power.  
  • Some unacceptable situations are :
    • Other religions. Freedom to choose your own religion.
    • Freedom of the Press.  
    • Freedom to elect people of your choice to govern you.
    • A Constitutional Republic with a Bill of Rights.  
• Find a funding source that benefits from your activities and goals.
